CPAP Connectivity & App Support

Modern CPAP and BiLevel equipment offers a variety of connectivity features, including Bluetooth pairing, mobile applications, wireless data transmission, and options for sharing therapy information with healthcare providers.

These features can be helpful, but understanding how they work together isn't always straightforward.

At CPAP Network, we help customers understand and troubleshoot the technical connectivity features of compatible equipment. We also believe it's important to explain the difference between connecting your machine to your personal smartphone and establishing access to therapy information through your healthcare provider.

Understanding CPAP Connectivity

There are three common types of connectivity worth understanding.

Bluetooth Pairing

Bluetooth allows compatible PAP equipment to communicate wirelessly with a nearby smartphone or tablet. Depending on the device, this connection may support app-based controls, personal data viewing, or other manufacturer-supported features.

Mobile Applications and Data Synchronization

Manufacturers offer mobile applications that may allow users to view equipment information, review usage data, access instructional resources, and manage supported functions.

The features and data synchronization methods vary by machine model and application.

Healthcare Provider Connectivity

Some PAP machines support the sharing of therapy information with authorized healthcare professionals through clinical platforms such as Resmed AirView.

Provider access is separate from connecting a machine to your personal smartphone. It may require device registration, account permissions, and additional steps managed through your healthcare provider.

CPAP Network can help explain these differences, but does not establish or administer healthcare provider monitoring accounts.

Resmed AirMini: Bluetooth and Mobile App Support

The Resmed AirMini is a compact travel CPAP machine that uses a dedicated smartphone application called AirMini by Resmed.

Unlike many full-size Resmed machines, AirMini relies on this mobile application for access to various equipment functions and personal therapy information.

Important: AirMini uses the dedicated AirMini app, not the standard Resmed myAir app.

How to Pair Your AirMini With Your Smartphone

To pair your AirMini with a compatible smartphone:

  1. Download the current AirMini by Resmed application from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  2. Connect your AirMini to its power supply.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  4. Open the AirMini app and follow the initial setup prompts.
  5. When prompted, press the Bluetooth button on the AirMini machine.
  6. When the Bluetooth light begins flashing blue, follow the prompts to connect.
  7. Select your AirMini when it appears in the application's available device list.
  8. For initial authentication, enter the four-digit security key on the machine or scan its QR code, as directed by the application.
  9. Confirm that the Bluetooth connection indicator appears in the app.

For additional instructions, see the manufacturer's Official Resmed AirMini Pairing Guide.

What If My AirMini Won't Connect?

If you're having trouble pairing your AirMini, try these basic checks:

  • Confirm that your smartphone is compatible with the current AirMini application.
  • Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  • Make sure the AirMini is connected to power.
  • Follow the application's instructions to activate pairing mode on the machine.
  • Check that you're selecting the correct AirMini device.
  • Restart the application or smartphone if necessary, then follow the manufacturer's pairing instructions again.

If the problem continues, contact CPAP Network with your smartphone model, operating system, and a description or screenshot of the connection issue.

We can help investigate basic technical problems and determine whether additional manufacturer support may be needed.

Can My AirMini Share Data With My Doctor Through AirView?

Yes. AirMini supports sharing eligible therapy information with healthcare providers through Resmed AirView when the required registration and synchronization arrangements are in place.

However, AirMini uses a different connectivity process than many full-size Resmed machines.

AirMini communicates with its companion application using Bluetooth. Its therapy information can be synchronized through the application and supported Resmed services when the necessary connectivity, synchronization, and account requirements are met.

For a healthcare provider to access eligible AirMini information through AirView, the appropriate patient and device registration must also be established through the provider's clinical system.

Successfully pairing your AirMini with your smartphone does not automatically establish access for your doctor's office.

CPAP Network's Role in AirView Connectivity

CPAP Network can assist customers with downloading the AirMini application, Bluetooth pairing, routine app navigation, and basic customer-side synchronization troubleshooting.

However, CPAP Network does not:

  • Register patients within healthcare providers' AirView accounts
  • Add equipment to a provider's clinical monitoring roster
  • Create or administer provider AirView accounts
  • Arrange provider monitoring access or clinical monitoring relationships
  • Provide ongoing clinical therapy monitoring through AirView

These arrangements are managed directly between the patient and their healthcare provider.

If your provider cannot locate your AirMini therapy information in AirView, we recommend contacting the provider's office to verify the appropriate registration and access arrangements.

If your AirMini is not pairing or synchronizing through its smartphone application, CPAP Network can assist with investigating the customer-side technical issue.

Resmed AirSense and AirCurve Connectivity

Many Resmed AirSense and AirCurve models support wireless connectivity and personal therapy applications, although features vary by device model, configuration, and network availability.

The Resmed myAir Application

Compatible AirSense and AirCurve machines may support myAir, Resmed's personal therapy application.

Depending on the device, myAir provides access to usage information, educational resources, and supported setup or pairing features.

CPAP Network can help identify the appropriate application for your equipment and provide basic troubleshooting guidance for compatible devices.

AirView for Healthcare Professionals

AirView is Resmed's separate clinical platform for authorized healthcare providers.

Supported AirSense and AirCurve equipment may transmit therapy data through built-in wireless connectivity, subject to the machine's capabilities and available network services.

Having a wireless-capable machine does not automatically mean your healthcare provider has established access to its therapy information.

Patient registration, clinical account access, and monitoring arrangements are managed through the appropriate healthcare organization.

CPAP Network does not independently establish these relationships or administer healthcare providers' AirView accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Resmed AirMini use the myAir app?

No. AirMini uses its own dedicated application, AirMini by Resmed. The standard myAir application is intended for other compatible Resmed machines.

Can CPAP Network help pair my AirMini with my smartphone?

Yes. CPAP Network can assist with basic AirMini Bluetooth pairing, application installation questions, and routine technical troubleshooting.

Can my doctor see AirMini therapy data through AirView?

Yes, when the applicable registration, permissions, and synchronization requirements are met. Provider access must be established through the appropriate healthcare organization.

Will CPAP Network register my AirMini with my doctor's AirView account?

No. CPAP Network does not administer patient registration or provider access within healthcare organizations' AirView accounts. Your healthcare provider handles these arrangements.

Why can I see AirMini information in my app, but my doctor cannot?

Personal app access and provider AirView access are different processes. Your provider may need to verify patient and device registration, while the app may need to complete the appropriate synchronization steps. CN can help with app-related technical questions, while the provider handles clinical account access.

Does CPAP Network monitor my treatment through AirView?

No. CPAP Network does not provide ongoing clinical therapy monitoring through AirView as part of our standard equipment sales and support services. Monitoring arrangements are managed by the patient and appropriate healthcare provider.

Does pairing my machine with my phone change my prescribed settings?

Bluetooth pairing itself does not change prescribed settings. Some manufacturer applications provide access to additional equipment functions, but changes to prescribed clinical settings should be made only with appropriate guidance or authorization from your healthcare provider.

What if my AirSense or AirCurve is not sending information to my doctor?

First, contact your healthcare provider to verify that your machine is properly registered for clinical access. If a specific equipment connectivity malfunction is suspected, CPAP Network can assist with technical troubleshooting or direct you to appropriate manufacturer support resources.
